Setbacks for indigenous land rights
Security Minister Patricia Bullrich shared a video on social media celebrating the eviction on 9 January of a Mapuche indigenous community from the Los Alerces national park in Chubut province. The eviction of the Mapuche in Los Alerces came after President Javier Milei signed a decree in December which rolled back on previous legal guarantees that offered indigenous peoples protection from being evicted from territory they claim as their ancestral lands.
