CUBA-REGION: Hegseth visits Gitmo
The newly appointed US defence secretary, Peter Hegseth, visited his country’s naval base at Guantánamo Bay in eastern Cuba on 15 February. Hegseth announced that the base would play a “critical” role in “the processing of dangerous illegal aliens and their eventual expulsion from our country”.
