In brief: Strong GDP growth in Peru

*Peru’s national statistics institute (Inei) has announced that the country’s GDP grew by 4.2% year-on-year in the final quarter of 2024, and by 1.3% compared with the previous quarter. This brought total GDP growth in 2024 to 3.3%. Growth accelerated in Q4 and was up from a year-on-year increase of 3.8% in Q3, when the quarterly growth rate was 0.7%. The biggest drivers of growth in Q4 were family consumption and gross fixed investment, which both increased by 4% year-on-year, and exports of goods and services, which were up by 5.8%.
