Paraguay’s lower chamber of congress voted unanimously on 18 February to accept the resignation of Orlando Arévalo, presented 10 days earlier. Arévalo, a member of the ruling Asociación Nacional Republicana-Partido Colorado (ANR-PC), was one of two deputies sitting on the Jurado de Enjuiciamiento de Magistrados (JEM), a body responsible for judging judges accused of misconduct.
