*Argentina’s national statistics institute (Indec) has revealed that in December the average salary was up 145.5% year-on-year, outpacing the country’s annual inflation rate of 117.8% in December. As regards a breakdown of sector, salaries were up 147.5% in the formal private sector in December year-on-year, 119.3% in the public sector, and 196.7% in the informal private sector. In monthly terms, the average salary increased by 3.1%, above the monthly inflation rate of 2.7% recorded in December.
