*Brazil’s national association of vehicle manufacturers (Anfavea) has released its production figures for January, which showed 175,500 units produced. This marks a 7.7% decrease from the 190,100 vehicles produced in December, but a 15.1% increase compared to the 152,600 units in January 2024. In a press release, Anfavea highlighted that this latest result is the highest production figure registered for the month of January since 2021. The association also released its latest sales and export figures, showing a total of 171,200 vehicles sold in January and 28,700 units exported. This monthly sales figure is down 33.5% from the 257,400 units sold in December and up 6.0% from 161,600 sold in January last year. Exports in January this year were down 8.5% compared to December but up 52.3% from January 2024. Anfavea stated that this significant year-on-year rise in exports reflects the “positive performance” of South American markets, especially Argentina.
