BRAZIL: NGO concerned over Cerrado deforestation despite annual drop
On 6 February Brazilian environmental NGO Instituto de Pesquisa Ambiental da Amazônia (Ipam) released its latest annual figures for deforestation in the Cerrado biome, which showed an affected area of 712,000 hectares (ha) last year, down 33% from 2023.
