ARGENTINA | Preparing for lifting currency controls. The government led by President Javier Milei reduced the crawling peg - the devaluation of the peso - from 2% to 1% per month on 3 February. In conjunction with tough austerity measures and public spending cuts, the crawling peg has played a key role in reducing inflation in Argentina, which registered a monthly rate of 2.7% in December.
