Mexico’s President Claudia Sheinbaum took to the main square, or Zócalo, in Mexico City (CDMX) on 12 January to mark her first 100 days in office. She highlighted the achievements of her government so far and painted an optimistic picture of the road ahead. While Sheinbaum continues to enjoy high approval ratings, not all are convinced of the rosy view that she projected, with the political opposition on hand to criticise the fledgling administration’s management of security and spending, as well as the judicial reform.
