*Paraguay’s central bank (BCP) has announced that monthly inflation in December was 0.7%, up from 0.2% in November. This brought the annual inflation rate to 3.8%, up from 3.4% in November but within the BCP’s target range of 4% +/-2 percentage points. The steepest monthly price increases in December were for pork (+7.2%), fresh vegetables & tubers (+7.1%), and holidays & tourism (+5.8%). The BCP is forecasting annual inflation to stand at 3.7% in 2025, with predicted GDP growth of 3.8% – down from the GDP growth forecast of 4.0% for 2024.
