At least six Caribbean countries are going to the polls in 2025, including newly oil rich Guyana; soon to be oil rich (it is hoped) Suriname; and the former and now fading leading Caribbean energy producer Trinidad & Tobago. In addition to these three, Belize, Jamaica, and St Vincent & the Grenadines will hold general elections in 2025. All six last held general elections in 2020 during the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic. The pandemic proved to be no handicap for the incumbent parties in St Vincent & the Grenadines, Jamaica, and Trinidad & Tobago. However, there were changes of government in Belize, Guyana, and Suriname.
