*Bolivia’s institute for foreign trade (IBCE), a private sector lobby, has said that soya exports fell by 708,000 tonnes (t) in the first nine months of the year, compared with the same period in 2023, with the resultant export value falling by US$523m. IBCE’s director, Gary Rodríguez, said that the annual drop in soya export revenue could reach US$650m by the end of the year. Rodríguez highlighted factors including drought, fuel shortages, and low international prices. Soya exports in 2023 totalled 3.2m t, bringing in US$1.75bn, according to the IBCE.
