The security cabinet of President Claudia Sheinbaum’s government travelled to Sinaloa state on 8 October to coordinate operations with state officials. Sinaloa, and state capital Culiacán in particular, has seen a surge in violence in recent weeks driven by clashes between rival factions of the Sinaloa drug trafficking organisation (DTO).
