At the request of the entire cabinet, home affairs minister Ronald Gajraj resumed his ministerial duties on 11 April, following his exoneration by a presidential commission of inquiry into his alleged involvement in extra-judicial killings. The commission was set up in May last year to look into allegations that Gajraj was linked to a death squad, an allegation made in January by George Bacchus, a businessman who was murdered at his home in Georgetown later that year.
