Peru’s President Dina Boluarte travelled to China from 25-29 June for meetings with President Xi Jinping, Premier Li Qiang, and other top-ranking politicians, as well as representatives from leading Chinese firms including Huawei, BYD, China Southern Power Grid, and China Ocean Shipping Company (Cosco). The visit highlighted strengthening bilateral ties which are set to reach new heights next year following the inauguration of the Chancay mega-port, which will be Peru’s third-largest port and will act as a new hub for cargo destined from South America to Asia.
