TRACKING TRENDS

BRAZIL | Government and markets raise growth forecasts. Brazil’s finance ministry released its latest GDP growth forecast on 13 September, which projected annual growth in 2024 of 3.2%, up from 2.5% in its previous forecast in July. Meanwhile, the central bank (BCB) released the latest edition of its Focus bulletin on 16 September, which contains the forecast of private sector economists. The bulletin had a slightly lower forecast compared with the government’s, projecting an annual growth rate of 2.96% for 2024.
