*Mexico’s President-elect Claudia Sheinbaum has spoken over the phone with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz to discuss strengthening Mexico’s “bilateral and economic relations” with Germany and the European Union (EU). According to a German government statement, Scholz also underlined the importance of progress on the EU-Mexico global agreement for economic relations and advocated for close cooperation between Germany and Mexico in the field of energy and climate policy.
