*Honduras’ Finance Minister Marlon Ochoa has signed an agreement with the president of the Latin American development bank (CAF), Sergio Díaz-Granados, in which the CAF committed to providing finance for projects related to infrastructure, social inclusion, and sustainable development. These will include funding to boost the Honduran coffee sector and construction work on a highway between the city of San Pedro Sula (Cortés department) and the west of the country. The CAF also committed to providing technical support to assist the planning of an interoceanic railway and for the development of a new irrigation programme. The new agreements come after the CAF approved an US$80m loan to Honduras in July, which is aimed at boosting gender equality and social inclusion.
