In brief: Brazil’s coffee exports up in July

*Brazil’s national council of coffee exporters (Cecafé) has released its latest monthly report, which showed that 3.77m sacks of coffee (one sack = 60kg) were exported in July. This is up from the 3.61m sacks exported in June and from the 3m sacks exported in July last year. Monthly exports of robusta coffee totalled 900,818 sacks, up 82% year-on-year. Arabica coffee exports came to 2.49m sacks, up 13% from July 2023. Total coffee exports in the first seven months of 2024 came to 28.15m sacks, up 46% compared to the same period in 2023. In January-July this year, the US was the top export destination, with 4.52m sacks exported, followed by Germany (4.03m sacks), Belgium (2.71m), Italy (2.22m), and Japan (1.31m).
