Guatemala’s President Bernardo Arévalo has presented a second criminal complaint against discredited attorney general María Consuelo Porras, calling for her to be stripped of her immunity from prosecution for abuse of authority and violating the constitution. The first was filed at the end of February [WR-24-09], just over a month after the anti-corruption reformist president took office following his remarkable August 2023 election victory.
