*Argentina’s national statistics institute (Indec) has released its latest index on mining and energy production, which shows a 3.3% rise year-on-year in June and an 8.2% year-on-year rise across the first six months of 2024. Crude oil, natural gas extraction & support services were up 4.7% in June 2024, compared to the same month in 2023 (with crude oil up 6.6% and natural gas up 6.8%). Extraction of metallic metals was also up 4.7% year-on-year, but extraction of non-metallic minerals was down by 11.5%.
