As well as combatting Mexico’s powerful drug trafficking organisations (DTOs), other challenges for Sheinbaum, who won the 2 June election by a landslide, include addressing femicides and violence against women, tackling the country’s disappearance crisis, and engaging with the US priorities of fentanyl and migration.
