CUBA: Government to roll out new austerity plan

The Cuban parliament will rubberstamp a new austerity plan this week, the second in just six months presented by the government as it seeks to confront the acute economic crisis afflicting the country. The government has also reformed the migration law in the wake of a mass exodus of migrants, seeking to escape the serious food, medicine, and fuel shortages on the island [WR-24-27] as well as political restrictions.
