ECUADOR: ‘Metástasis’ investigation begins to show results
The first sentence was handed down in Ecuador’s massive ‘Metástasis’ corruption investigation on 15 July. The investigation is targeting the infiltration of the country’s institutions by criminal gangs, and its launch in December last year is widely viewed to have been a key factor in the unprecedented criminal uprising which took place the following month [WR-24-01].
