Transpetro launches tender for ships. Transpetro, the oil and gas transportation subsidiary of state-controlled oil giant Petrobras, announced that it had launched an international tender to acquire four new oil tankers on 8 July. The company is seeking four handysize ships with a deadweight tonnage of between 15,000-18,000 tonnes (t). Shipbuilding companies will have 90 days to submit proposals, and Transpetro is expected to award the contract by December this year. The four vessels will need to be manufactured and delivered from 2026-2028.
