ECUADOR | Noboa claims economic progress. President Daniel Noboa claimed on 8 July that Ecuador’s economic situation is improving, saying that “we’ve got through the hardest part” and that “if we hadn’t had these hard six months, or taken difficult decisions, then in the second half of the year we wouldn’t have public investment that transforms employment, nor would we have the money to keep fighting a war [against criminal gangs]”.
