*Paraguay’s central bank (BCP) has reported that the country registered monthly deflation of 0.4% in June, down from monthly inflation of 0.4% in May and 0.8% in April, and slightly lower than the 0.3% deflation recorded in June 2023. This brings the accumulated inflation for the year to 2.8%, compared to 2.2% for the same period in 2023. The annual inflation rate stood at 4.3%, down from 4.4% in May 2024 but higher than the 4.2% registered in June 2023. The report highlighted a decrease in food prices, particularly beef, fruit, and vegetables, due to increased supply. However, there were price increases in durable goods and services such as rent, vehicle maintenance, and personal care. The core inflation rate, excluding volatile items like food and energy, was 3.1%, down from 3.2% in the previous month.
