*Mexico’s national statistics institute (Inegi) has released its latest preliminary indicator of economic activity (IOAE), which estimates that productive activity in May was up 2.0% in yearly terms and 0.3% as compared to the previous month. Inegi estimates an annual increase of 3.0% in the tertiary sector (services) but no change in the secondary sector (manufacturing). Inegi reported 0.4% growth in both secondary and tertiary activities as compared to April. This compares with IOAE estimates of a 0.3% monthly contraction and 2.1% annual growth in April.
