COLOMBIA: Rupture with Israel threatens military supplies

Whilst Colombia is not the only country in the region to have severed ties with Israel in protest at the war in Gaza, it is uniquely exposed to the fallout of such a diplomatic rupture. The Colombian military is heavily reliant on Israeli hardware and services in its struggle against insurgent and criminal groups, including essential servicing of its aging fleet of Kfir fighter jets. With the Colombian and Israeli governments indicating that this era of cooperation is coming to an end, the armed forces may find themselves looking for new suppliers.
