*Mexico’s national statistics institute (Inegi) has published new employment figures showing that the unemployment rate of the economically active population - comprised of people aged 15 and over who are either employed or seeking employment – was 2.6% in April 2024, equalling 1.6m people. This represents a decrease of 108,000 people or 0.2 percentage points since April 2023. In seasonally adjusted monthly terms, the unemployment rate showed no variation.
