MEXICO | US files new labour complaint. On 28 May US Trade Representative Katherine Tai announced that the US had asked Mexico to review whether a facility run by multinational car manufacturer Volkswagen in the central state of Puebla was denying workers’ rights to freedom of association and collective bargaining. While the request is reviewed, the US is temporarily suspending tariff benefits for vehicles and parts produced at the plant.
