On 20 May Colombia’s President Gustavo Petro fired the commander of the army, General Luis Mauricio Ospina, replacing him with General Luis Emilio Cardozo following a spate of attacks by dissident units of the disbanded Fuerzas Armadas Revolucionarias de Colombia (Farc) guerrilla group.
