*Mexico’s central bank (Banxico) has released new figures which show that remittances to the country totalled US$5.02bn in March, down 3.3% in annual terms. This was also below the median forecast of analysts surveyed by Bloomberg, who had expected remittances of US$5.3bn. The drop is greater when considering the appreciation of the peso over the past year. However, accumulated remittances to Mexico for the first three months of the year stood at US$14.11bn, up 1% on the same period of last year.
