Job creation rises. The labour ministry has released its latest job creation figures on 30 April, which showed a net 244,315 new jobs were created in March, bringing the total net job creation for the first quarter to 719,033 new jobs. The figure for March 2024 marks an increase from the net 194,372 jobs created in the same month last year. Four of the five sectors measured registered a net increase in jobs in March this year, with the greatest increase in the services sector (148,722 new jobs). The only sector to register a net loss was agriculture, with 6,457 net jobs lost in March. From January-March, all five sectors saw net increases.
