Argentina’s President Javier Milei registered his first political victory of note this week after a string of defeats since coming to power last December. The lower chamber of congress approved his libertarian government’s omnibus bill of reforms, albeit in a somewhat diluted form, and an accompanying fiscal reform. Milei’s success owed in no small part to a change in strategy.
