In brief: Annual inflation up in Mexico

*Mexico’s national statistics institute (Inegi) has released consumer price index figures for the first half of April, which shows inflation increasing by 0.09% as compared to the previous two-week period. This brings annual inflation to 4.63%, up from annual inflation of 4.42% at the end of March. The core price index, which discounts volatile items in its calculation, increased by 0.16% compared to the previous two-week period, resulting in an annual rate of 4.39%.
