*Mexico’s congressional social security committee has approved a dictamen that would create a new pensions fund – an initiative which will now go to the full plenary. This is in line with the proposed pension reform unveiled in February by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador as part of a mega reform package. The dictamen was approved by 19 votes in favour, ten against, and no abstentions.
