*Mexico’s national statistics institute (Inegi) has published the latest data for its monthly index of industrial activity (Imai), showing that industrial production decreased by 0.1% in monthly terms in February. This compares to a monthly increase of 0.4% in January. Construction decreased by 2.5% and mining by 0.8% in February, while activities in the manufacturing industries rose 0.5% and utilities (electricity generation and transmission, provision of water and gas) by 0.7% in monthly terms. In seasonally adjusted annual terms, industrial production rose by 1.5% in February with construction up 12.1% and utilities up 2.5%. Activities in the manufacturing industries presented no yearly variation while mining fell by 4%.
