MEXICO: Bárcena bolsters regional diplomatic backing
On 9 April Mexico’s foreign minister, Alicia Bárcena, urged the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (Celac) to support a case the country intends to present against Ecuador at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) and the letter it is preparing to send to the United Nations Secretary General António Guterres denouncing the incursion into Mexico’s embassy in Quito to seize former vice president Jorge Glas (2013-2017).
