*Chile’s central bank (BCCh) has released its monthly index of economic activity (Imacec) for February, which shows a yearly increase of 4.5% and a rise of 0.8% compared to the previous month. This follows annual growth of 2.5% in January, when monthly growth was 1.7%, and a 1.0% contraction in annual terms in December, when growth also contracted 1.1% in monthly terms. According to the BCCh, every sector registered a yearly rise in February, particularly goods (+8.7%), which was driven mainly by a 11.5% rise in mining while other goods and industry also posted increases of 6.7% and 5.2% respectively.
