*The Dominican Republic’s economy, planning & development (MEPYD) ministry has raised its GDP growth projection for 2024 to 5.0%, citing recovery observed in the second half of 2023 driven by monetary and fiscal policies. The growth forecast is up 0.25 percentage points on the previous forecast announced in August 2023. According to the MEPYD, the country’s monthly index of economic activity (IMAE) expanded 6.2% year-on-year in February, up from 4.4% in February 2023.
