The federal police (PF) of Brazil has launched investigations into an alleged criminal network within the national intelligence agency (Abin) that carried out illegal surveillance for the benefit of far-right former president Jair Bolsonaro (2019-2023). The illegal spying activities were allegedly carried out during Bolsonaro’s presidency under former Abin director Alexandre Ramagem (2019-2022).
