*The US State Department and the Costa Rica-based Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA) have announced a new collaboration with Guatemalan stakeholders on the Vision for Adapted Crops and Soils (VACS) – a food security initiative that, according to a joint statement, will build “a more resilient food system through a focus on diverse, climate-adapted crops and healthy, fertile soils”. This VACS partnership will identify areas for future investment and mobilise resources from the public and private sectors to advance its goals in Guatemala.
