*Argentina’s presidential spokesperson Manuel Adorni has stated that the minimum wage will be set at Ar$180,000 (US$215) a month in February and Ar$202,800 a month in March. The wage increase has been implemented by decree after meetings between the government, unions, and employers failed to produce an agreement on the matter. The minimum wage, which was last raised in December, currently stands at Ar$156,000, signifying an increase of 15.4% in February and a further increase of 12.7% in March, with an overall increase of 30% between January and March. The minimum wage hike comes as Argentina continues to experience sky-high inflation and surging poverty.
