*Mexico’s labour ministry (STPS) has announced that the Mexican unit of German carmaker Audi has reached an agreement with the trade union Sindicato Independiente de Trabajadores de Audi México (Sitaudi). On social media, Labour Minister Marath Bolaños said the agreement resolved the labour conflict that began on 24 January when workers went on strike after previous negotiations on wage increases failed. Sitaudi members approved the agreed salary increase of 10.2% in a vote on 18 February, with 66.3% of votes in favour of the raise, according to Sitaudi secretary general, César Orta. The union had initially requested a 15.5% pay rise, with Audi Mexico proposing a salary increase of 6.5%.
