*Costa Rica’s ministries of foreign trade (Comex) and science, innovation, technology & telecommunications (Micitt) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the US’ Arizona State University. A Micitt press release describes the MoU as a “crucial step towards competitivity, development of talent, promotion of innovation and technological development in Costa Rica”. The agreement provides for Costa Rican institutions to receive the guidance and support of the US university for the design of technical educational and professional programmes related to disciplines relevant to the technological industry, such as microelectronics and semi-conductors.
