In brief: Brazil sees record coffee exports in January

*Brazil’s national council of coffee exporters (Cecafé) has announced that coffee exports surged by 39% year-on-year in January, hitting a new record for the month. A total of 3.96m sacks of green coffee (1 sack = 60kg) were shipped in January, causing export revenue to increase by 30.4% to US$802.5m. Germany was the main destination for Brazilian coffee exports in January, followed by the US, Belgium, Japan, Italy, and China.
