*Brazil’s national statistics institute (Ibge) has released the latest version of the consumer price index, which put monthly inflation in January at 0.42% – down from 0.56% in December. This brought annual inflation to 4.51%, down from 4.62% the previous month. Monthly inflation in January was driven by price increases for food & drink (+1.38%) and health & personal care (+0.83%). Prices fell in the categories of transport (-0.65%) and communications (-0.08%).
