MEXICO: Searching for Mexico’s disappeared

Lorenza Cano had been searching for her missing brother for almost five-and-a-half years when she went missing herself on 15 January. Gunmen burst into Cano’s home in the municipality of Salamanca, Guanajuato state, abducting her and killing her son and husband, in an incident that has shaken Mexico. The attack has highlighted the very real dangers facing those trying to find missing loved ones in Mexico and the lack of State support they are offered.
