PANAMA: Election wide open as frontrunner Martinelli granted asylum
On 7 February Nicaragua's government led by President Daniel Ortega said it had granted political asylum to Panama's right-wing former president Ricardo Martinelli (Cambio Democrático, 2009-2014), a leading contender in the 5 May 2024 presidential race.
